Said Stuart Buntine of BEDE:
We are delighted to be able to give competitors the opportunity to compete at Firle Place. These new classes running alongside the Area Championships will really add to the occasion.
Everyone involved recognises the season started late and the new Science Supplements Area Festival has come round really quickly so the opportunity to give more riders a run across this idyllic estate is just great news.
We are delighted to be working with the All England Jumping Course, Hickstead at Firle, and they will be supplying us with the show jumps for the event. The show jumping will take place in front of the house.
Our building team are working on some exciting new fences and combinations for the cross country phase.
We are thrilled to be opening up our entries to run normal BE80, BE90, BE100 and BE100 Open classes – these entries are open now. Area Championship and Area Qualifier competitors entering before midday on Tuesday 20 April will be given priority entry, so we urge anyone looking to make an entry to do so promptly”
Firle Place was used as a primary location in the new film adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved classic Emma which starred Anya Taylor-Joy, Bill Nighy, Johnny Flynn and Miranda Hart.
