Katara to Present the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival and Prestigious Title Show
The prestigious Title Show involving international purebred champions will feature total prize money of QAR 13,000,000
The Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, together with the Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) and the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) will host the first Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF), from Feb 2 to Feb 6, 2021. The highlight of the Festival will be an impressive Title Show for Arabian purebreds from Feb 4 to Feb 6, 2021. The event is expected to attract international interest and global participation of competitors and will be held at the esplanade of the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara.
His Excellency Dr. Khalid Bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, General Manager, Katara, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Katara International Arabian Horse Festival said:
Qatar has a long-standing legacy of equestrian excellence and a deep love and appreciation of the Arabian breed. Our mission is to support this rich heritage world-wide. The distinct feature of the Festival will be a Title Show of pure-bred Arabian horses. As one of the world’s highest-ranked shows, only the finest horses will be eligible to participate in this prestigious show. Our vision includes enhancing the culture of “modernization and originality” in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.”
Arabian Horse enthusiasts can look forward to a great start in 2021, as KIAHF will be the most prestigious and federative event of its kind. As part of the series of events hosted by Katara throughout this season, this Festival will involve several related cultural and educational activities. The reputable event is set to become an annual affair. In its continuous effort to uphold Qatar’s rich heritage, the Festival aims to promote the standing of the unique purebred Arabian breed locally, regionally, and internationally. The festival will offer a diverse range of activities to best showcase the Qatari spirit and tradition.
With total prize money of QAR 13,000,000 the highly anticipated Title Show will showcase some of the most exceptional Arabians in the world. Horse owners and breeders of champion horses can participate with confidence, as the highest standards of integrity and fairness will be upheld. The proceedings will be held in accordance with the standards and rules set by the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO).
ECAHO has a well-developed system of rules that have become the accepted standard in major international horse shows in almost 40 countries across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. They ensure fair competition and humane treatment of the horses, safeguarding them from ill-treatment. ECAHO has zero-tolerance for any doping offence. Disciplinary Committee members of ECAHO are present at every show to confirm all standards
The class of competitions for the Title Show will include:
• Yearlings (1-Year-Old)
• Junior (2 -3 Years Old)
• Senior (4-6 Years Old)
• Senior (7-10 Years Old)
• Senior (11+ Year Old)
