It’s a First and Third for Charlotte in the Seven Year Old Championship class at The Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show.

Charlotte Dujardin claimed another victory this morning in the Seven Year Old Championship class at The Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show.

First in was Charlotte who rode the first of her two horses in this class, River Rise Nisa, who she co-owns with Sarah Tyler Evans. The judges made comment on the horse’s ‘super self-carriage’ which was complimented by the suppleness throughout the test. The final confirmed score was 79.9%.

Fiona Bigwood (feature image) was next into the international arena riding Daytona Platinum. Due to slight resistance in the canter causing an error in course, Fiona lost valuable marks early on. The Oldenburg gelding went onto perform beautiful flying changes, finishing the pair just short of the leading lady’s score on 76.9%.

Three other riders were to follow; Rebecca Hughes, Abigail Hutton and Anne-Marie Rawlins. Rebecca Hughes riding Tantoni Dallaglio who is owned Allison Croft, produced a nice test with judges commenting on the active walk. Sadly due to weaker flying changes and the canter pirouette needing ‘more work’ the final score reflected this.

Charlotte was last out into the ring to complete the morning’s competition with Mount St John VIP. Following her earlier test,  the second mare didn’t ride quite as easily, with a little tension throughout. The final score meant a first and second wasn’t quite in reach, with a third clinched instead.

The final placing saw Charlotte Dujardin in first and third place riding River Rise  Nisa and Mout St John respectively. Fiona Bigwood clinched second and in fourth was Anne Marie Rawlins, riding Georgie.

The five, six and seven-year-old Championship classes at Bolesworth International Horse Show demonstrate today’s young dressage talent at it’s best, these horses will be the superstars of the future.
