Horse Racing In Yorkshire – It’s a Tradition!

You can say people in Yorkshire enjoy horse racing. You can say it is popular with the people who live there. But these statements are such understatements they are funny. It would be like saying fire is a bit warm or sugar can be a little sweet. The fact is, there is no other region in the UK as passionate about horse racing as Yorkshire. Yorkshire thrives and survives for horse racing. They have nine top-class courses. That is more than any other region in the UK – holding more than 170 meetings annually. They are home to a large number of winning stables. Among their impressive stables are Middleham, Malton, and Richmond.

People have long enjoyed placing bets on the horses. It is very exciting betting on something where the odds change so easily. It’s like winning the lottery in round one. Make no mistake about it. Millionaires have been made at horse tracks. Live horse races go back to the 17th century in yorkshire. It is a part of their history and their culture. So, no matter what other betting they incorporate into their lives, horse races are going to stick around.

Horse racing styles in Yorkshire

You can choose any style of horse racing you enjoy in Yorkshire. There are six flat racing courses. They are:

  • York
  • Beverly
  • Pontefract
  • Redcar
  • Ripon
  • Thirsk

Dual courses offering monthly racing – on the flat or over jumps at Catterick in the north, Wetherby in the west, and Doncaster in the south.

Racing festivals staged in Yorkshire include the “Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor” meeting and the “St Leger at Doncaster” – the oldest classic horse race in the world.

Video slot horse racing

In this age of technology, people can enjoy the excitement of the horse races online as well. Enjoy everything you would expect from a video slot and place your bet on any of four running the race. Casino chips are used to bet on the direct result of the race. The same features of betting at the track are available to online players. This is the most fun racing fans can have without going to the track.
