A horse being offered what appears to be cannabis has been captured in a sickening video.
The field kept horse is viewed reaching through the bars of what appears to be fencing or a gate, sniffing a rolled up cigarette believed to have been filled with cannabis.
The short video shot by yobs on an estate close to Prenton, Wirral, goes on to show the horse being offered the cigarette on two occasions, however it is unclear as to whether the horse ingested it or not.
As a result, the RSPCA have launched an urgent appeal for anyone with any further details to contact them on their support line 0300 1234 999.
Thousands of social media comments have since been left by the public. It is evident from some of the posts that the horses were regularly visited by locals in the community.
A statement from the lady who claimed she was the owner of the horse, said: “Shame as it means the people who like to give them a stroke won’t be able to now”.
One community member said: “My little boy will be absolutely devastated over this. He’s only three and his favourite part of the week is seeing the horses and going to Sayers on the way back for a sausage roll. I don’t know why people are so cruel.”
