H&C and USHJA Announce New Partnership

Horse & Country TV (H&C) has announced a major new partnership with the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA), the membership body representing the hunter and jumper disciplines of equestrian sport in the United States.

In a move that looks to further raise awareness of equestrian sport in the United States, for those in the United Kingdom, H&C will create a new branded partner channel. USHJA TV will operate within H&C’s existing streaming service. Subscribers will be able to access the service both online and through H&C’s proprietary apps as well as through third-party services such as Roku, Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire.

The partnership is a substantial extension of the pre-existing production-based relationship between USHJA and streaming company EQ Sports Net, which was acquired by H&C earlier this year.

In addition to live streams and sports highlights packages, the TV will feature hunter/jumper content across H&C’s core genres of Training & Learning, Entertainment, and Documentary. Both H&C and USHJA will contribute material to USHJA TV, ensuring the widest possible mix of high-quality programming from the outset, which will be regularly refreshed and updated.

Major events that will be live streamed through the service include:

  • The Platinum Performance/International Hunter Derby Championship
  • The Platinum Performance/Green Hunter Incentive Championships
  • The Gold Star Clinics

For USHJA, Executive Director Kevin Price commented,

This new relationship will enable us to enrich the experience of those already involved in the hunter/jumper community, while at the same time as introducing these wonderful disciplines to new audiences both in the US and worldwide.”

David Qualls, Executive Producer, North America for H&C, said:

It is great to see the successful relationship between EQ Sports Net and the USHJA further developed through the launch of this new partner channel.  We are excited about expanding the range of hunter and jumper content available to viewers in the US and abroad and look forward to getting back into live production with the USHJA.”

USHJA TV launched on the 16/06/2020, with a selection of content from the 2020 Gold Star Clinics and the 2019 Championships, as well as masterclasses from Laura Kraut, Georgina Bloomberg and other top riders, and highlights from dozens of international jumping classes.  The live events portion of the channel is expected to kick off in August, with the forthcoming USHJA Championship week.
