In a shock announcement this evening, showjumper Guy Williams has spoke out on social media over the loss of his Puissance superstar, Mr Blue Sky.

Guy wrote:

“Blue you owe me nothing, you gave me your all, we raised every roof in the house, we were a partnership, you were a legend.
I can’t say anymore, I can’t thank you enough for the pleasure you gave my family and friends.
You were a true legend 💙💙💙
My thoughts are also with @elaine_annis & Caroline & @phillipsrupert
RIP Mr Blue Sky”

The tall, impressive grey known for his uncanny ability to out-jump the competition when faced with the big red wall, has given Guy, his team and owners a number of fairytale wins in the very best British showjumping classes, including those held at HOYS, London International, and Hickstead.

At only 15, the Dutch Warmblood had captured the hearts of the nation with his tremendous ability, big heart and as Guy Williams described in an interview with Horse and Hound, ‘his enjoyment’ for it.

Mr Blue Sky will no doubt be remembered for years to come and will be sadly missed by not only his owners and team, but by equestrians far and wide too.
