Gillian Higgins, the founder of Horses Inside Out, is bringing together detailed equine anatomy and art in her Equine Anatomical Art Exhibition this August.
The event, taking place at Wavendon Grange, Leicestershire, has been designed to help those interested in equine anatomy to understand more about what goes on underneath the horse’s skin and how the horse’s body functions. It’ll also shed light on growth and development from birth to veteran, show some of the common ailments in real life, and more besides.
“I’m passionate about helping increase understanding of how the horses we all love work, to improve welfare alongside performance,”
said Gillian Higgins. “A lot of the work I’m known for involves anatomical painting on horses and showing how the bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments work together during exercise. What we have on display at the exhibition works so well with this. In addition to skeletons and painted models, visitors will also be able to get hands on in interactive zones, see a 3D model of the horse’s head and the structures under the skin, understand genetic anomalies and abnormalities, and plenty more. It’s the perfect event for horse owners, riders, and enthusiasts as well as those studying any equine course or qualification.”
In addition to all the above, Gillian will be involved in a live Q and A at 2pm each day during the exhibition.
The Equine Anatomical Art Exhibition runs from Thursday 22nd August – Sunday 24th August from 10am – 4pm. Tickets cost £25 each.
