The FEI has released its October 2025 rankings update, revealing significant movements across multiple equestrian disciplines. With approximately 70 rankings and standings covering everything from monthly World Rankings to league-based competitions, the latest figures showcase the sport’s top performers and emerging talents.
Longines Rankings: Farrington’s Five-Month Reign Continues
Kent Farrington (USA) continues his impressive dominance at the summit of the Longines Rankings, maintaining the world number one position for the fifth consecutive month with 3,527 points. The American rider has established a comfortable lead over his closest competitors, demonstrating consistent excellence throughout the season.
Great Britain’s Ben Maher holds second place with 3,108 points, whilst compatriot Scott Brash has climbed to third position following a successful summer campaign, accumulating 3,036 points. The top five is completed by Germany’s Christian Kukuk (3,005 points) who has dropped to fourth, and Richard Vogel (GER) in fifth with 2,914 points.
Belgium’s Gilles Thomas maintains sixth position on 2,859 points, with Netherlands’ Harrie Smolders seventh on 2,772 points. Laura Kraut (USA) makes a notable return to the top 10, climbing four positions to eighth with 2,749 points. Ireland’s Daniel Coyle (2,717 points) and American rider McLain Ward (2,617 points) round out the top 10 in ninth and 10th respectively.
Longines League of Nations™: USA Extends Lead
The United States continues its remarkable run at the top of the Longines League of Nations™ ranking, leading for the ninth consecutive month with 14,897 points. Ireland remains in second place on 14,023 points, whilst current European Champions Belgium hold third with 13,828 points.
Germany has slipped to fourth place with 13,694 points, as France drops from third to fifth on 13,536 points. The 2025 Longines League of Nations™ Champions Great Britain occupy sixth position with 13,091 points, followed by Netherlands (11,985 points), Italy (10,756 points), and Switzerland (10,441 points).
Brazil maintains its grip on the final qualifying spot with 9,732 points, though Sweden (8,385 points) poses an increasing threat after overtaking Canada, who now sit 12th on 8,058 points.
FEI Dressage Rankings: Verboomen Consolidates Leadership
Justin Verboomen (BEL) strengthens his position at the top of the FEI Dressage World Ranking for Athletes for the second consecutive month, leading with 1,925 points. Germany’s legendary Isabell Werth follows in second with 1,824 points, whilst Denmark’s Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour returns to the top three with 1,784 points.
Great Britain’s Becky Moody retains fourth position on 1,781 points, with compatriot Charlotte Fry completing the top five on 1,768 points.
Horses’ Rankings: Zonik Plus Reigns Supreme
The 9-year-old black stallion and double European Champion Zonik Plus continues to dominate the Horses’ ranking for the second consecutive month with 1,925 points. Jagerbomb has achieved his best-ever ranking, climbing to second place with 1,781 points, whilst Glamourdale drops to third on 1,768 points. Fame rises to fourth position (1,636 points), followed by Bluetooth OLD in fifth with 1,615 points.
FEI Eventing: British Dominance After European Championships
Following the Agria FEI Eventing European Championship 2025 at Blenheim Palace, the rankings reflect Great Britain’s commanding performance. Harry Meade (GBR) extends his reign at the top for the fifth consecutive month with 588 points.
Rosalind Canter (GBR) maintains second position on 550 points, with new European Champion Laura Collett in third, 69 points behind Canter. Tom McEwen climbs to fourth on 458 points, narrowly ahead of Boyd Martin (USA) in fifth with 457 points.
FEI Driving Rankings: Bruder Claims Singles Crown
The Four-in-Hand and Pairs divisions remain stable at the top, with reigning World Champion Boyd Exell (AUS) continuing to dominate the Four-in-Hand category with 244 points, whilst Stan van Eijk (NED) leads the Pairs division on 147 points.
The Singles category sees a new leader as Canada’s Kelly Bruder ascends to number one with 86 points, displacing former leader Marion Vignaud (FRA) who now sits second on 77 points.
FEI Endurance: French Dominance and Spanish Breakthrough
France’s Lea Vandekerckhove has claimed the top spot in the FEI Endurance Riders World Ranking with 1,093 points. Her compatriot Virginie Atger remains second on 1,000 points, with former leader Melody Theolissat (FRA) third on 974 points, creating an all-French podium.
In the Endurance Trainers’ World Ranking, Spain’s Diego Bellón Santos has surged to the top after climbing eight positions, accumulating 1,206 points. Mohammed Ahmad Ali Al Subosi (UAE) now occupies second place with 1,024 points.
FEI Para Dressage: American Leadership Continues
Team USA maintains its dominance in senior Para Dressage Rankings. Fiona Howard leads the Individual ranking with 1,619 points, whilst Team USA tops the Team ranking on 1,339 points. Italy’s Sara Morganti (1,617 points) and Netherlands’ Rixt van der Horst (1,565 points) hold second and third in the Individual standings.
Italy (1,313 points) and Germany (1,300 points) complete the Team ranking podium. In the U18 category, Ireland’s Katie Reilly leads with 1,272 points, followed by compatriot Clodagh Walsh (1,157 points) and Great Britain’s Elan Williams (1,071 points).
Ranking Spotlight: Saana Nieminen’s Meteoric Rise
Finland’s Saana Nieminen has emerged as this month’s standout performer, climbing an impressive 29 positions to reach 11th in the FEI Endurance Riders World Ranking. The 20-year-old athlete achieved two successful competitions in Romania, including victory at the CEI3* 160 in Buftea riding Bengali Shama, and a seventh-place finish at the CH-M-YJ-E 120 with Amogjar al Payral just two days earlier.
Nieminen now stands on the verge of breaking into the top 10, marking a significant breakthrough for Finnish endurance riding on the world stage.
