Leading horsebox and trailer manufacturer Equi-Trek is undergoing major expansion following a £5-million investment funded by parent company, the Trek Group.
Not only does the investment promise an innovative new horse trailer in the new year, but the expansion in production and plant will see 50 more jobs created in the Stocksbridge manufacturing facility.
The move comes as Equi-Trek, the largest producer of horseboxes and trailers in the UK and Europe and has experienced unprecedented demand in recent months.
Said Trek Group Chief Executive, Tom Janion:
Demand for Equi-Trek horseboxes and trailers is at an all-time high, and we have some very exciting growth plans for the next 12 months.
Our new two-horse trailer will launch in the spring after more than two years of research and development, and we are very excited about this new addition making horse transport affordable and in the reach of even more owners.
We are well known for leading the way in safety and innovation, and that continues with our engineering team using the latest technology to enhance our product range.
Providing more new jobs for the region and increasing our capacity is a great position to be in, and I would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this happen over the last six months.
There are very exciting times ahead for the Trek-Group, which has invested heavily in new business acquisitions that all enhance the company portfolio.”
Trek Group is a range of companies all linked to the automotive and transport industries.
The headquarters are at Stocksbridge on a 75-acre site and employs more than 450 staff in engineering, sales, manufacturing, automotive dealerships, fleet rental, parts and design.
