International stars and best polish riders will compete at Equestrian Festival Baborówko
The Equestrian Festival Baborówko is held in Baborówko, Poland from 24th to 27th of May. Riders from around the world will compete for the total prize money of 100 000 EUR. On the master lists there are athletes from the top 100 as well as the best polish riders.
The audience in Baborówko will have the pleasure to see Tim Price (NZL), competing for New Zealand, who is the number three competitor in the world eventing ranking. Tim Price is a very experienced rider who only last year won three 3* competitions. During the last five years he was in top 5 in a few of the most difficult CCI4* competitions all over the world: Badminton, Burghley, Kentucky and Luhmuhlen. In Luhmuhlen he took home first place in 2014. Tim Price has also been part of the New Zealand national team, which won fourth place in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (2016). Tim Price will bring to Baborówko Pats Jester, a bay stallion born in 2008. Price and Pats Jester have also competed in four star showjumping shows lately. In Baborowko the athlete will compete in CIC3* for the prize of the patron of the show – Mr. Roman Roszkiewicz, which is the most difficult competitions of Equestrian Festival Baborówko.
Tim Price competes together with his wife Jonelle, who is a very experienced athlete, competing for New Zealand. This year she won first place at the one of the most prestigious show in the world – CCI4* in Badminton. In 2014 she also took home fourth place in World Eventing Championships in Caen in France.
Maxime Livio (FRA), currently placed at the 20th position in FEI rankings, competing for France, will bring three horses to Baborówko. In 2016 the rider won one of the six CCI4* competitions in the world – in Pau (France). Maxime Livio will compete in Baborówko with gelding Opium De Verrieres, with which he has won CIC3* competition in Le Pouget, gelding Pica d’Or, with which the athlete took 3rd place in CICO3*-NC in Vairano in Italy and stallion Vitorio Du Montet.
Another athlete from the top 100 of the FEI rankings is a competitor from Japan – Yoshiaki Oiwa. The rider is now number 25 in the FEI rankings. He is a three-times Olympian (Rio de Janeiro 2016, London 2012, Hong Kong 2008). He finished the 2016 Olympics at the 20th position, competing with The Duke of Cavan. Oiwa has been training and living in Germany for many years, achieving a lot of success at competitions all over Europe. Last season, Oiwa has been placed in 3* competitions three times, including a victory in CIC3* competition in Strzegom. At Equestrian Festiwal Baborowko Yoshiaki Oiwa will compete in the CIC3* competition with Calle 44 – a gelding with which the athlete won the prestigious Bramham Horse Trials in England last year.
Andreas Dibowski (GER) is one of the best German athletes, who is currently placed at 39th position in the FEI World Eventing Athlete Ranking. The rider attended the Olympics three times. In Hong Kong (2008) he won gold team medal; in Athens (2004) and Sydney (2000) he was placed 4th in team rank. Andreas Dibowski won the gold medal at the European Championships twice – in Malmo (2013) and Luhmuhlen (2011). In 2016 he won one of the most important eventing competitions in the World – CCI4* in Luhmuehlen (GER) with It’s Me xx. At Equestrian Festival Baborowko we will have the possibility to see Andreas Dibowski in the CIC3* and CIC2* competitions, with four horses.
Another rider that we will have the opportunity to see during Equestrian Festival Baborowko is, competing for Sweden, Sara Algotsson Ostholt. The rider is a three-time Olympian (Rio de Janeiro 2016, London 2012, Athens 2004). Her biggest success to this day is the individual silver medal won during the Olympic Games in London (2012), riding Wega, which we will have a chance to see in the CIC3* competition in Baborowko. Last season the rider has finished the European Eventing Championships in Strzegom at the ninth position individually, and won silver medal with the Swedish team.
Equestrian Festival Baborówko will also be attended by top Polish eventers. We will have the opportunity to see Paweł Spisak, which is currently placed at 139th position in the FEI ranking. The athlete is a four-time Olympian (Rio de Janeiro 2016, London 2012, Hong Kong 2008, Athens 2004). He is a six-time medallist of the Polish Championships in Eventing (2017, 2015, 2011, 2007, 2006, 2005) and a repeated winner of the first place in the Polish Eventing Cup. The athlete has recently achieved great success, finishing the CCI4* competition during the Kentucky Three-Day Event in the USA at the 15th place, competing as the first Polish rider during the show.
Mateusz Kiempa will bring 5 horses to Baborówko. In the most difficult competition of the show – CIC3*, we will see him riding Lassban Radovix and Jak Chef. In the CIC2* competition – with Grand Supreme and Libertina, and in the CIC1* – with Ambrozjo J. Mateusz Kiempa is the winner of the silver medal during the Polish Eventing Cup in 2017 and the current leader of this year’s Polish Eventing Cup ranking. He has also shown to be in great shape during the European Eventing Championships in Strzegom (2017), which he has finished at 45th place.
Mariusz Kleniuk will bring two horses to the Festival. The athlete is the winner of the Polish Eventing Cup in 2016 and a many-time competitor during both the Polish Eventing Cup and Polish Eventing Championships. One of the most important recent performances for the athlete was to be placed at 25th position during the European Eventing Championships in Strzegom (2017), where he was the best Polish rider. At Equestrian Festival Baborówko we will have the opportunity to see Mariusz Kleniuk competing with two horses: Winona and Jusis.
Equestrian Festival Baborówko 2018 will be held from 24th to 27th of May in Baborówko (Poland). The competitors will compete for the total prize money of 100 000 EUR in four international competitions: CIC3*, CIC2*, CIC1*, CICYH1*.
