Dressage Nominated Entries for Paris 2024 Olympic Games Announced

British Equestrian and the British Dressage Selectors have confirmed the 12 dressage athlete and horse combinations that will be submitted to the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) as nominated entries for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Only those on the nominated entries list, closing on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, will be eligible for selection by the British Olympic Association for the Games.

Charlotte Dujardin has been nominated with two of her most prominent horses, Alive and Kicking and Imhotep. Annabella Pidgley, on the other hand, is set to compete with Gio, a horse previously ridden by Dujardin, if successful. The line-up also features Andrew Gould from West Sussex, riding the black stallion Indigro.

The Dressage nominated entries for Paris 2024, listed alphabetically by athlete surname, are as follows:

  • Lewis Carrier (27) from Chippenham, Wiltshire, with Andrew and Helen Carrier and his own Diego V (bay, gelding, 16 years old, 16.2hh, Spielberg x Welt Hit II, Breeder: E. Janssen NED).
  • Charlotte Dujardin (38) from Newent, Gloucestershire, with Ulrike Bachinger, Carl Hester, and her own Alive and Kicking (black, mare, 10 years old, 16.2hh, All At Once x Fürst Piccolo 2, Breeder: Michael Schulte GER) and Carl Hester and Coral Ingham’s Imhotep (chestnut, gelding, 10 years old, 16.2hh, Everdale x Vivaldi, Breeder: T. Huizing NED).
  • Charlotte Fry (28) from Den Hout, the Netherlands, and originally from Scarborough, North Yorkshire, with Van Olst Horses and her own Everdale (black, stallion, 15 years old, 17.2hh, Lord Leatherdale x Negro, Breeder: P. Kluytmans NED) and Glamourdale (black, stallion, 13 years old, 16.3hh, Lord Leatherdale x Negro, Breeder: J. Rodenburg NED).
  • Andrew Gould (44) from Horsham, West Sussex, with Max and Tatiana Skillman’s Indigro (black, stallion, 11 years old, 16.2hh, Negro x Jazz, Breeder: J. Deenen NED).
  • Carl Hester (56) from Newent, Gloucestershire, with Charlotte Dujardin, Lady Anne Evans, Sandra Biddlecombe, and his own En Vogue (dark bay, gelding, 15 years old, 17hh, Jazz x Contango, Breeder: A. Van De Goor NED) and Fiona Bigwood, Mette Dahl, and his own Fame (bay, stallion, 14 years old, 16.2hh, Bordeaux 28 x Rhodium, Breeder: V. O. F. G. and M. Gerritsen NED).
  • Gareth Hughes (53) from Southam, Warwickshire, with Julia Hornig, Rebecca Hughes, Ruby Hughes, and his own Classic Goldstrike (chestnut, gelding, 13 years old, 16.3hh, Tango x Krack C, Breeder: J. Schaap NED).
  • Becky Moody (44) from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, with Jo Cooper and her own Jagerbomb (bay, gelding, 10 years old, 17.1hh, Dante Weltino x Jazz, Breeder: Becky Moody GBR).
  • Susan Pape (61) from Hemmor, Germany, with Harmony Sporthorses and her own Harmony’s V-Plus (black, stallion, 10 years old, 17.1hh, Vivaldi x Fürst Romancier, Breeder: Gestüt Lewitz GER).
  • Annabella Pidgley (19) from Windsor, Berkshire, with Sarah Pidgley and Jessica Pidgley’s Gio (chestnut, gelding, 12 years old, 16hh, Apache x Tango, Breeders: H. J. de Jong and A. Valk NED).

At the time of release, the grooms’ names for each horse nominated for Paris 2024 have not been confirmed but will be included in the final squad announcement. Selection decisions are subject to the athletes and horses maintaining fitness and performance, and this list may be amended up to June 25, 2024. The final squad of four combinations travelling to Paris as part of Team GB, along with reserves, will be announced in late June.

Nominated entries for eventing and jumping combinations have already been announced, and entries for the para-dressage squad for the Paralympic Games in Paris will be published in the coming days.
