Celebrating Dartmoor’s Native Ponies: Find out how to enter the Photography Competition below.
The Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust is thrilled to announce the launch of its inaugural photography competition, made possible through the collaboration of esteemed partners: Flapjackery, Taylor and Moor, the Dartmoor Soap Co., and Malcolm Snelgrove Photography.
This captivating competition calls upon participants to showcase Dartmoor’s stunning native ponies through the lens of their cameras. Whether you possess a budding passion for photography or consider yourself a semi-professional, the trust wholeheartedly encourages you to share your images of Dartmoor’s native ponies thriving in their natural habitat on the moor. The ponies should display a single, rich color, including mesmerizing shades like bay, grey, roan, black, or brown.
The dedicated panel of Trustees, with keen eyes and discerning tastes, will carefully select their six favorite photographs. These remarkable images will then be transformed into greeting cards and Christmas cards, which will be sold to generate crucial funds in support of ongoing work.
To participate, simply email your high-resolution photograph, along with your complete contact details, to admin@dpht.co.uk. The submission deadline for this competition is July 31, 2023, and we are pleased to inform you that there is no entry fee.
But that’s not all! In addition to the honor of seeing your photographs featured on the Trust’s exclusive greeting and Christmas cards, the six winners will each receive a delightful box of Flapjackery’s Taste of the West Box, containing six mouthwatering, award-winning, gluten-free flapjacks. Flapjackery has chosen to support the DPHT as its designated charity for 2023 at their Tavistock branch, making this collaboration even more special.
Furthermore, the overall winner will be rewarded with a half-day photography workshop alongside the renowned Dartmoor photographer, Malcolm Snelgrove. Additionally, they will receive an annual individual membership of the DPHT for one year, Taylor and Moor’s indulgent Devon Afternoon Tea Hamper for Two, and a selection of exquisite soaps from the Dartmoor Soap Co.
We would like to highlight that the judges’ decision is final, and prizes cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash. By entering the DPHT Photography Competition, the owner of the winning photograph grants permission for the image(s) to be published as a DPHT greeting card. For the purpose of this competition, native Dartmoor ponies are defined as those residing on Dartmoor and displaying a solid coat color without any white markings. By participating, you grant the DPHT permission to share your images on the Trust’s social media platforms and website.
