Cornbury House Horse Trials 2021 Livestream Ready to Go!
All the cross-country and showjumping action from Cornbury House Horse Trials 2021 (8-13 September) will again be free to view on the event’s own livestream service.
The livestream coverage will be presented by Nicole Brown, well-known in eventing for her work on the Event Rider Masters series, Horse & Country TV and the EquiRatings Eventing Podcast.
Our free livestream at the inaugural Cornbury House Horse Trials in September 2020 was extremely popular and was viewed by many thousands of people all over the world,”
said event founder and president David Howden. “
Although this year we will be welcoming the public to our spectacular event, we also very much wanted as many people as possible to be able to watch the top-class equestrian sport at Cornbury House, even if they can’t come to Oxfordshire in person.”
As it did in 2020, Cornbury House Horse Trials has received a huge number of entries. Among them are all three members of Britain’s recent Olympic gold medal-winning eventing team – Oliver Townend, Tom McEwen and Laura Collett – as well as other major stars of the sport such as Zara Tindall, Andrew Nicholson, William Fox-Pitt, Andrew Hoy, Tina Cook, Sam Griffiths and Piggy French.
David Howden said:
Our 2021 entries are almost unbelievably good. We had terrific feedback from riders and owners last year, and have worked hard to create an even better showcase for our exciting sport this time. We will provide the best conditions possible for horses, riders, owners and connections and, with a first prize of £2,500 for the senior CCI3*-S sections, the best prize-money for that level in the country. It should be a fantastic event, and I can’t wait!”
The top-class, challenging cross-country tracks, superb footing and atmospheric main arena at Cornbury House – and its position in the calendar – provide the perfect conditions for horses and riders to prepare for their ultimate seasonal goals. For some of the entries, such as reigning world champions Ros Canter and Allstar B, it might be the European Championships in Switzerland at the end of September, while the younger horses will be targeted at the World Young Horse Championships at Le Lion d’Angers in France in October. And, in the absence of Britain sending teams to the Junior or Young Rider European Championships this year, the NAF-sponsored Youth classes – CCI3*-S and CCI2*-S for riders aged under 21 – Cornbury House will be a highly competitive finale.
For the first time, Cornbury House is hosting a special Elite CCI3*-S section for riders ranked in the top 200 in the world. Dressage for this class will take place in the beautiful main arena, which has been substantially enlarged for 2021, on Thursday, 8 September. All the jumping for the senior international classes happens on Friday, 9 September, with national novice classes on Saturday, 10 September and national intermediate sections and the jumping phases of the under-21 international classes on Sunday, 11 September. The livestream will be in operation from 9-11 September for all classes.
