Horse racing is one of those sports that attracts people of all ages, including celebrities! Unlike other types of racing, horse racing still has a certain prestige.
With the development of online betting, making them is even easier than before. Even if you are a beginner, there are online guides for you that explain how odds work, give bookmaker reviews, and even provide hot tips and other information. In addition, many sites, like www.topcadcasinos.net, give newbies no-deposit bonuses, including money to spend on bets.
Musicians, actors, athletes, and even chefs – the list of celebrities who love horse racing is long and varied. Here are some of the celebrities who love horse racing:
Gene Simmons
Gene Simmons is probably not easy to figure out in a crowd, as he never leaves the house in full KISS band makeup! Simmons not only loves horse racing, he loves to bet on them. One episode of his reality show included a trip to the Kentucky Derby.
He and his girlfriend placed a $100,000 bet by picking a horse based on the jockey’s silks. It may not be the smartest strategy, but sometimes you just have to trust your intuition.
Bobby Flay
Bobby Flay has become a well-known chef and host of cooking shows such as “Boy Meets Grill,” “Throwdown! with Bobby Flay,” and “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.” The Iron Chef judge is also heavily involved in the horse racing world. He is also a racehorse owner.
Just this month, his horse Contemporary Art raced at Belmont Park in New York. Ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr. Contemporary Art finished second in the 1/16-mile turf race. His other horses include Pizza Bianca, Mezcal, Eamonn, and First Captain, all of whom have won or placed in recent races.
Vince McMahon
Unsurprisingly, Vince McMahon has been spotted at the biggest horse races. He is an athlete and loves spectacle. He and his wife are known to have friends who are racehorse owners.
As the owner of the largest professional wrestling franchise in the United States, World Wrestling Entertainment, he is used to competition.
William Shatner
Before Chris Pine took on the role, William Shatner was mostly known for playing the role of Captain Kirk. Fewer people know that, in addition to his love of space, he has a great love of horses and has owned horse farms since the 1970s.
Though the farms were focused on breeding show horses rather than racehorses, he remains a fan of the sport. Spending so much time in Kentucky with his show horses, it’s hard to imagine he hasn’t spent time travelling to Churchill Downs in Louisville.
Madonna
Even though Madonna has been in the news in recent years for her on-stage antics or bizarre videos on TikTok, she’s also known as a lover of horses and betting on horse races. She was badly injured in 2005 when she fell off a horse, but she still loves riding and watching horse races.
Since the 1980s, Madonna’s name has become popular for racehorses, and there are even a few horses named Material Girl. However, none have earned the title of Queen of Pop!
Bode Miller
Olympic gold medalist and world downhill champion Bode Miller is another celebrity who not only watches horse racing but also owns racehorses. He became interested in the sport through his friendship with trainer Bob Baffert. Baffert even named one of his horses Bodemeister in honor of the skier.
Though his horses didn’t always have the most success, the sport became a passion for Miller. He became interested in improving methods of training horses. As an Olympian, he believed that horses should be treated as athletes, not animals.
