Bolesworth Hit by Flash Floods
Bolesworth hit by flash floods – Event scheduled to take place tomorrow with only one arena closure.
The latest equestrian event to take the brunt of the British weather is Bolesworth International, set in Bolesworth Estate, Cheshire. The management team have this evening announced, via their website and social media, the cancellation of classes scheduled to take place in the Lake Arena tomorrow, due to unexpected downpour this afternoon. They are confident that preserving the area, ahead of the weeks coming classes, will allow the schedule to continue as of Friday.
Classes will go ahead as planned in the International Arena and Castle Arena. Full refunds will be issued to those who have been affected by tomorrow’s Lake Arena closure.
An update will be published Thursday morning, via the Bolesworth website, before 7am informing competitors that are due to travel the event on the situation. National riders due to house horses in the stabling, have been advised not to travel until the announcement has been made.
Bolesworth is the most recent large scale equestrian event that has been effected by the torrential downpours the UK has witnessed this year. The first day of Windsor Horse Show was cancelled, ahead of the mornings classes, due to flooding in public and parking areas.
The hard work, dedication and sheer man hours channeled into events like Bolesworth is clear for all to see. We just hope the rain now clears and the sun is able to shine for Cheshire’s most anticipated equestrian event to continue.
