Grey Filly, Up in the Air Z, was the top lot during this year’s Bolesworth Elite Sport Horse Auction on Thursday evening.

The straight moving foal who is sired by Untouchable, out of Telysette, made a final sale price of £24,500, £500 ahead of Bolesworth stable mates; chestnut filly, Funky Zoetendaele Z and brown colt, Carrera GT3 VH Reukenis Z who both made £24,000.

Sourced from the best show jumping horse breeders and producers in Europe, the 17 lots presented, made £280,500 averaging £16,500 on the Thursday evening of the show.

Without a doubt this year’s Bolesworth Elite Auction proved a real high spot, with the electric atmosphere projected all around the international arena on a floodlit evening.

The auction once again included foals and yearlings and was run in partnership with Luk van Puymbroeck and Gerald Lenearts, organisers of the successful Flanders foal auctions, based in Belgium.

Crowd favourite during the preview which took place earlier in the day was Mazzeltov by Cape Coral RBF Z, out of Wiske O. The striking brown colt yearling sold for £15,000.

The unique concept of selecting youngstock with ‘Black type’ dam lines continued with the strict criteria followed for selection ensuring that every lot was by a top commercial show jumping stallion, with close relations on the dam side that have competed internationally at 1.50m level or above.

Bolesworth International President Nina Barbour said:

We had some of the very best bloodlines across the world represented, and I was delighted with the quality of the foals and yearlings in the Elite Auction.  It was a wonderful evening with keen interest from some of the leading names and stables looking for future stars and talent.”
