Beyond Doubt – Show Jumper Faye Sutton Makes Dreams Come True at HOYS
15 year old Shropshire school girl, Faye Sutton is HOYS bound and is competing two ponies at these prestigious end of season championship finals.
Faye will kick off her Horse of the Year Show campaign on Thursday morning in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship with Beyond Doubt II. The 148cm, 13 year old, blue roan gelding is described by Faye’s mum as being the ideal partner for Faye ‘as they both have a competitive edge and enjoy a challenge’.
The pony is owned by Angie Davies who bought him for herself as a 6 year old ‘just to ride’, but sadly she became poorly and past him on to a friend who discovered his ‘scopey talent’ while on a fun ride.
Beyond Doubt has partnered various riders but it wasn’t until Angie talent spotted Faye and asked her to take the ride that the ponies true ability came to the fore. The combination qualified at Keysoe in June and are looking forward to their Horse of the Year Show debut.
‘It means a lot for me to ride Beyond Doubt for Angie as it has been a dream for her that I’ve made come true. She isn’t going to recover from her illness and if I’ve made her life better by riding through those famous curtains at Horse of the Year Show then I’m as happy as she will be!’ said Faye.
Faye Sutton and Robe Ruadh – HOYS 2016
Faye’s second outing at HOYS takes place in Friday’s Leading Pony of the Year Showjumper of the Year, with Robe Ruadh whom she has partnered since 2016, finalists last year the combination qualified at Bicton.
The partnership has enjoyed an outstanding season which included representing Great Britain at the FEI Pony European Championships in Kaposvar, Hungary where they finished 7th individually.
