BEF Search For Tokyo 2020 Leader
The BEF has launched the search for a director who will lead team GBR “to success at Tokyo 2020 and beyond”.
The role, formally titled as ‘BEF Performance Director’, is designed to support riders in every discipline, and their journey to success. Applications for the role will be taken from 19th July – 26th September 2018, with confirmation of the successful candidate taking on the role expected before Christmas 2018.
The new BEF Performance Director will be given the role of delivering “milestones and targets in the next 2 years up to Tokyo and provide the foundations for 2024”, the successive Olympics. They will be expected to work with British equestrian governing bodies to manage athletes and horses, support owners and develop up and coming talent.
The person who fills the role will also be taking on management of the Podium, Podium Pathway and Podium Potential Pathway.
The BEF are searching for someone with the appropriate skills and expertise including “highly developed, inspirational leadership” and “experience and ability working with multiple partners, stakeholders and volunteers to inspire, build trust, confidence and achieve success”.
In addition, the BEF would like someone who has understanding of the BEF’s structure and pathways, equine sports science and medicine, international competition and coaching. The role, although based in Stoneleigh, would require frequent travel nationwide and worldwide, to support the various athletes.
The new BEF Performance Director is set to achieve sustained success for British equestrian athletes and implement “what it takes to win”.
