Another Busy Month – Steph Gumn

Another Busy Month – Steph Gumn

It’s been another busy month! Axl started his ridden career, he’s a little quirky but settling into the job nicely. His flatwork improves each day and he’s popped a couple of fences, proving to be brave enough and careful. I’m really excited to see him grow in confidence and experience over the next month before he’s ready to go to his first show.

Nemo is enjoying life as a three-year-old. He’s been lunged and long reined a few times but mostly enjoys days in the field.

I have welcomed a new full livery onto the yard and they have settled in well. We should have a nice team of people and horses this summer. I took my liveries horse (who I sold to them the end of last year) out to Weston lawns and she went lovely, however we had an unlucky pole in the jump off. The recent outing has given me even more motivation to get Axl out and about.

Nemo has his first show planned at Northcote Young Horse show for the three-year-old loose jumping class, I can’t wait to see him in action! Axl likely won’t be ready for this show but will hopefully be ready for Scope and the National four-year-olds later in the year. I have plenty to keep me busy so watch this space!
