Finishing on a score of 284, the Finchale View Riding School team of Esther Walker (12), Mia Tait (14) and Lauren Craggs (24), who also took the win in 2017, put in strong performances alongside teammate Abbie Hughes (13) to take victory; once again outscoring the Branches and beating 2017 runners up and former title holders Lavant House Stables, who finished 2nd with 276 points.
The Branch competition was equally close, but topping the board by just two points was the Quorn Hunt with a score of 274.5. The team, consisting of Libby Perkes (10), Anna Veasey (12), Molly Tarris (14) and Iola Chapman (16), narrowly beat East Cheshire into 2nd place.
West Lancashire County won the Home Made Collage or Display Competition with their very impressive rosette collage which depicted all of the activities the Branch runs, including the Musical Ride, Volunteering and Pony Club Camp. As always the Judges had a very hard job to pick their winner, and offered a huge well done to each team for their efforts.
Pony Club Trustee, Sha Starr, who was on the National Quiz organising team said: “I was very impressed with the standards of knowledge shown by everyone taking part in the Quiz Finals, and it was lovely to see the camaraderie shown within the teams.”
