It’s now 1/4 racing goes ahead on March 10th at Cheltenham Festival, Oddschecker reports
With just a week until the Cheltenham Festival gets underway, odds on the four-day event going ahead have shortened dramatically over the last 24 hours.
Odds have shortened from 4/6 into 1/4 that racing goes ahead on March 10th, which in percentages, is a jump from 60% to 80%.
On the other side, odds on the Festival being cancelled continue to drift, from 6/5 out to 7/2 that racing does not go ahead next Tuesday.
In percentages, that’s a drop from 45.5% to just 12.5% that the four-day racing extravaganza is not allowed to get underway on time.
Over a whopping £1,670,000 has been traded on the market since it was created on the Betfair Exchange, proving to be one of their most popular ante-post markets.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson:
It’s the market that everyone in the racing community has been monitoring in the run-up to this year’s festival.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock’s comments that we’re ‘several weeks’ from cancelling sporting events in the country appear to have had a seismic shift in the odds.
Looking at the market this morning – racing fans will be ecstatic at the fact that there’s now an 80% implied chance that the Greatest Show on Turf goes ahead as planned.”
Updates to continue, as and when released.
