Some of Europe’s most sought-after bloodlines will enter the sales ring at Newmarket this autumn, with the catalogue for Book 1 of the 2026 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale now available online.
Taking place at Park Paddocks from Tuesday 6 to Thursday 8 October, Europe’s premier yearling sale features 469 lots by many of the continent’s leading sires. Every yearling offered will also be eligible for the £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus.
The catalogue includes yearlings by 19 of Europe’s top 20 sires, with Wootton Bassett leading numerically with 35 lots. Sea The Stars has 31, followed by Lope De Vega with 29, Night Of Thunder with 27 and Blue Point with 24.
Beyond the headline numbers lies a catalogue filled with connections to horses who have already made their mark at the highest level. The yearlings offered include siblings to 44 Classic and Group 1 winners and 219 Group or Listed winners.
Frankel has 21 representatives, among them a full brother to Fillies’ Mile winner Ylang Ylang, an own sister to Prix Saint-Alary winner Jannah Rose and a half-sister to July Cup winner Mill Stream. A filly out of four-time Group 1 winner Alcohol Free also features.
The season’s leading performers have helped add further interest to the catalogue. Derby winner Christmas Day has a Wootton Bassett half-brother entered, while Gold Cup winner Scandinavia is represented by a Siyouni half-sister. A Baaeed half-brother to Blue Bolt and a Havana Grey half-sister to Romantic Warrior are among the other notable lots.
Buyers will also have an early opportunity to see the first yearlings by several exciting young stallions. Chaldean leads the first-season sires with 13 representatives, while Ace Impact, Modern Games, Native Trail, Paddington, Shaquille and Vadeni are also represented.
One of the catalogue’s rarest offerings is a daughter of six-time Group 1 winner and Japanese Horse of the Year Equinox. She is the only yearling from his first crop due to be offered at public auction in Europe.

Every yearling in Book 1 is eligible for the £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus. The scheme has paid £10,645,000 in bonus prize money to 451 individual winners during the past 11 years.
The Tattersalls October Book 1 catalogue can be viewed online now. Printed catalogues will be available from Tattersalls and its representatives from Wednesday 19 August.
