There’s a reshuffle of the leaderboard after the completion of the dressage phase at the Mars Badminton Horse Trials, and a British top 10, to boot. Amy Powell reports on the action. An Unexpected Victory at the 75th Mars Badminton Horse Trials

Olympic years can always throw up unexpected results at Badminton, and 2024 is absolutely no exception with a total shakeup of the leader board. New Zealand’s Caroline Powell came from 6th place overnight to take her first Badminton Horse Trials title with the feisty mare Greenacres Special Cavalier, having finished here in last place in 2023. A Familiar Name Leads After Dressage at Mars Badminton Horse Trials

Badminton Horse Trials announces competitor line-up for 75th anniversary event

As Mars Badminton Horse Trials welcomes its 75th anniversary in 2024, organisers have announced a stellar lineup of horse and rider combinations for the event, which will take place from Wednesday, May 8th, to Sunday, May 12th. Badminton Horse Trials Winners Fund Receives Boost

Mars Badminton Horse Trials announced that the total prize money fund for this year’s event will rise to £425,000 – an increase of 12% on 2023.  The news means the winner will take home £117,600 with the relevant increases all down the line.  It is fitting that the 75th anniversary of Badminton should fall in an Olympic year. At a damp and muddy Badminton Horse Trials presented by Mars Equestrian, it was third time lucky for Britain’s Ros Canter who bettered her 2022 runner up spot with Lordships Graffalo to take home the coveted trophy along with a hefty £105,000 first prize. Badminton Horse Trials Cancelled for 2021 In yet another blow to equestrian sport, 5* Badminton Horse Trials has today (1/3/2021) issued a statement confirming the cancellation of the 2021 event.
