The SPILLERS™ brand has launched a new online nutrition training hub for equine feed retailers, designed to provide practical, evidence-based nutrition knowledge while helping advisors support customers with greater confidence.

The free training platform features five structured learning modules that guide users through essential areas of equine nutrition. On completion, participants can test their knowledge via online quizzes and earn a Certificate of Completion. AMTRA members can also gain up to 12 CPD points by completing all six topics within the Clinical Conditions module.

“Our new Nutrition Training modules are designed to help retailers feel better equipped to support their customers with confidence and expertise,” said Vanessa Allen, Nutrition Content Manager at Mars Horsecare, home of the SPILLERS™ brand.

“Whether you’re a feed advisor working in a store, an equine studies student, or simply passionate about improving your equine nutrition knowledge, our training hub is for you – and it’s completely free to use.”

Each module delivers clear, practical information that can be applied day-to-day and shared directly with customers:

Early feedback from retailers

Juliet Holden (pictured) from Carltons The Feed Merchants Ltd in North Tyne is among the retailers who have already completed the training.

“I recently completed the SPILLERS™ nutritional training and really enjoyed it,” she said. “It gives a great overview of the feed market and the nutrients horses need, as well as deeper explanations of different clinical conditions and the most suitable feeds to manage them. The training was easy to follow and packed with practical advice I can pass directly on to customers.”

Evie Faraway from Stanah Horse Feeds added: “I love how the modules are easy to follow – short, informative and genuinely helpful when it comes to sharing knowledge with customers and supporting sales. Because they’re broken into manageable sections, it’s much easier to fit them in during busy periods in store.”
