Overreach Boots for the field

Protect your horse this spring with a pair of overreach boots for the field.

Overreach injuries are easily avoided with correctly fitting boots. Overreach boots can be valuable for turnout as well as for riding in, especially for horses prone to pulling off front shoes.

Ideally, when looking to protect horses legs, boots should fit snug to the horse, be clean and where overreach boots are used, they should not be too tight.

Overreach boots are designed to sit just above the coronet band and should cover the bulbs of the heal, to prevent strikes from the hind legs. Although harder in some instances to remove, rubber overreach boots are a good option for turnout due to  staying power! Velcro or rubber clip type fastenings should be avoided unless you want to spend an hour or two looking for the other boot; once, twice or maybe three times a week.

The Equus brand from Abbey England (pictured here) are quick and easy to fit, won’t rub and can simply be rinsed clean after use. Even in cold winter weather the boots remain flexible and they always provide outstanding protection.

The high rubber content allows the ‘pull on’ Overreach Boots to stretch easily over the horse’s hoof for quick and easy use.

Available in a choice of six colours and also with velcro fastenings if preferred.

RRP: From £10.95 per pair.
