New Horse Transport Business, Transport My Equine, Set to Shake Up Current Gameplay

Have you ever been in the situation where you’ve needed to transport your horse and yet the quotes you’ve received require you to take out a small mortgage? Or wanted to go to an event but not had the transport to get there? Or even bought a horse from the other end of the country?

Then look no further as Transport My Equine is here to solve all those problems.

The brains behind the company, Mairead Martin based in Cheshire, had never owned a horse herself until 2014 it seems unbelievable that such a brilliant concept was conceived by someone with no equine history. However, the lightbulb moment came to her after she started to frequent the local shows with her own horse called Blue.

Having dreamed of owning a horse since childhood, the reality didn’t come true until she was in her early 50’s.

Sadly, after owning Blue for a year, she was out hacking when he took a tumble. Mairead sustained multiple breaks in her tibia and fibula as well as massive internal and soft tissue damage.  This resulted in surgery to pin everything back together and a prolonged stay in hospital.  If this wasn’t bad enough, being wheelchair bound and taking medication made focussing on work an impossible task and as a result, she lost the income she depended on from her recruitment contracts.

At this point it meant she would either have to give up the dream of owning a horse or invest everything in terms of time and training to gain her confidence again.

“I basically sold everything I had in order to keep Blue” she said. It took time but eventually, she managed to get back in the saddle again and a year on from the accident, she saved up enough money to buy herself a trailer and started going to shows again as well as having lessons.

It was then that she realised that she kept seeing the same faces on the circuit …. being the entrepreneurial sort, she made the decision a few months ago about how she could make a living from her passion for the horsey world.

Having given it much thought, there was clearly a need to offer equine transport at an affordable cost, and change the way the industry works at present but without compromising standards.

Transport My Equine offers a one-stop shop for transporting your equine, alleviating the time taken to research transport companies in your area and wait for quotes or finding recommendations from Facebook.

In a nutshell, you post your requirements on the site i.e I need to take my horse to Surrey. Transporters then quote for this job, allowing you, the client to make a choice of who to use.

The unique rating system means only people who have used the transporter can rate them, giving customers peace of mind.

Transporters can maximise the opportunity of transporting an equine to a destination they were already going to and bid for work they may not have been aware of.

Transport My Equine is also very transparent. Each job is posted and it’s easy to see what competitors have quoted, meaning the customer gets better value for money.

It also saves on advertising costs as Transport My Equine will direct the work to the transporter. There is no fee, no hidden costs, and no monthly membership. It basically does what it says on the tin.
