Kate Cowell Continues Her Winning Form

Malvern based, Kate Cowell and Samba Dancer won Saturday’s Grand Prix at Sheepgate Premier League Dressage on their second GP outing. The 16.1hh gelding, by Samba Hit II and owned by Chris Richards, has enjoyed an outstanding year so far. Kate had a set plan for this dynamic chestnut gelding from the outset, has stayed on track and is now reaping the rewards – their first win came in the Inter II at Myerscough Premier League in March.

I’m thrilled with Samba Dancer, the plan was always to set the ball rolling and start the year off at Inter II and progress through to Grand Prix. He’s shown great aptitude and level of maturity,” said Kate.

Sirocco also produced a dazzling performance at both Wellington and Sheepgate Premier League’s producing 70% in the Inter I’s – narrowly pipped to the post at last weekend’s Inter I (Sheepgate). The 17hh bay gelding by Sandro Hit and owned by Helen Illes has secured his place on the selectors radar and has recently been invited to represent Great Britain at Small Tour at Hartpury, Deauville and Hickstead.

Sirocco is showing more confidence and expression in the tests, and I’m so pleased his talents are being recognised,” said Kate.

To top Kate’s run of success, the Trish Andrews owned, 17.2hh bay mare Dramatic Conquest has been on top form, securing a win in the PSG at Wellington Premier League and 70% at Somerford Park in only her second PSG.

Dramatic Conquest has only just started at this new level and I couldn’t be more delighted with her performances so far,” said Kate.
