Fundraising Continues for Four-Year-Old Olivia

Fundraising Continues for Four-Year-Old Olivia

The support for the Olivia Phillips fundraising cause has so far been outstanding, a true reflection on how a community and industry can pull together during times of need.

Four-year-old Olivia has been diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a rare cancer of the liver that has spread to her lungs. Close friends of the family wanted to help send Olivia, her parents and siblings on a holiday of a lifetime to Disney as well as provide financial support at what must be a very difficult time. So far funding received have exceeded £7,000!

We spoke with Kate Hodgenia, a very close friend to Louise, Olivia’s mother “Louise and I have been friends since we were seven-years-old, she is more like my sister than friend” said Kate “I can’t do anything to make any of this better for her so raising the money makes me feel in some way useful. Louise and Jon have always wanted to take the children to Disney, so the money raised will be a dream come true for them. Not only that but Olivia needs a home to return to when she’s better, Jon can’t work at the moment as he’s moved into the hospital. The money is making life a tiny bit easier for them as it means being able to pay bills without the worry of any financial difficulty”.

Another close friend of the family, Sarah Hallmark added “We are overwhelmed by everyone’s support and such generous donations. When we heard about Olivia’s diagnosis we felt hopeless and wanted to do something to help. To be able to support the family and send them on a dream holiday seemed the right thing to do. We have an amazing committee of volunteers who have worked their socks off and we are so excited for the auction on 6th December”.
