British Dressage Team Named for European Championships 2025
British Equestrian has announced an exciting quartet to represent Great Britain at the FEI Dressage European Championship 2025, taking place in Crozet, France from 26-31 August. The team combines Olympic experience with fresh talent, as they aim to defend their European title.
The Selected Team
The British dressage team European Championships 2025 features a compelling mix of seasoned champions and newcomers:
Charlotte (Lottie) Fry (feature image) returns with her proven partner Glamourdale, the 14-year-old black stallion that has been instrumental in her rise to international prominence. Based in the Netherlands, Fry has been a consistent team performer since 2019.
Carl Hester, the veteran of the squad at 58, will be making his ninth consecutive European Championships appearance with Fame. The Gloucestershire-based rider’s experience will be invaluable as the team seeks to maintain their championship status.
Andrew Gould steps up from reserve to earn his European Championships debut with Indigro. The 45-year-old from West Sussex gets his chance to shine on the senior championship stage after gaining valuable experience as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic setup.
Becky Moody completes the lineup with her home-bred Jagerbomb, making this her first European Championships. The Sheffield-based rider has shown impressive form this spring with multiple personal best performances.
Championship Prospects
Dressage Chef d’Equipe Darrell Scaife expressed his excitement about the team’s potential: “What an exciting foursome to be taking to France for this year’s FEI European Dressage Championships. With Lottie and Becky featuring in the world’s top four and a number of personal best performances from the group this spring, we carry great form to the championships.”
The team benefits from having the same athlete and horse combinations that competed at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, providing valuable championship experience. All horses have shown continued improvement since Paris, raising expectations for strong performances in France.
