Abbey England offers a bit of everything at BETA International
Leading supplier of premium products and material for the equestrian industry, Abbey England, will be showcasing its extensive range of bits at BETA International, which will be held this year from 9-11 September 2021 at NAEC Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.
Abbey England (stand 238 at 2021 BETA International) manufactures and supplies bits for all equestrian disciplines; from dressage to show jumping and driving, to racing and polo. The range combines all forms of mouthpieces, including Cherry Roller, Twisted, Hanoverian, Jointed, Dr Bristol, French link, Waterford, Port, Vulcanite and Rubber, with various cheekpiece styles. The company offers a unique service with almost all sizes, materials, and patterns available, and also creates bespoke pieces to exact specifications.
Using traditional manufacturing methods, fit for the 21st century, only the highest quality metals and materials are used, such as traditional stainless steel, copper, iron or sweet metal or nickel. Bits made from vulcanite and rubber are also gaining in popularity, as these encourage a more relaxed, softer mouth for the horse, providing a more comfortable style of bit. The exemplary metal work featured on Abbey’s bits is made and hand-finished in its foundry in Walsall, one of the last foundries in the UK.
The components for the Abbey England bits are manufactured from castings using the ‘lost wax’ technique. This produces a much finer detail and finish than traditionally sand-cast creations. Where more unusual or complex parts are required for a design, these are created or finished by hand. Each bit is then individually checked for quality, to ensure riders get the very best from their horse. This dedication to continuing the production of functional, yet decorative, equestrian hardware, earned Abbey England a Royal Warrant for its service and supply to the Queen’s Royal Guard since 1995.
