Prize Fund Boost Announced for Thoresby and Osberton Spring Events
Eventing riders have reason to celebrate as BEDE Events confirms an £8,000 increase to the prize fund across its two major spring international fixtures, Thoresby (3rd–5th April) and Aspen Cooling Osberton (1) (22nd–24th May).
New Leading Rider Prizes and Bonuses
A new partnership with Succeed sees the introduction of a Leading Rider prize at both events. The top riders will be awarded a bonus £1,000, with points accumulated throughout each fixture determining the winner.
Lycetts will also return with its £1,000 bonus for the highest placed Lycetts-insured rider in the Grantham Cup, adding further incentive for competitors.
Expanded Championships and Spring Bonus at Osberton
Osberton (1) will feature fresh prize opportunities, including the Connolly Red Mills supported RoR Eventing Championships and BEDE’s new Spring Bonus. The RoR Championships, open at BE90, BE100, and Novice levels, will offer enhanced prize money and prizes in kind for winners. To qualify, combinations must achieve a minimum of two MERs at any standard British Eventing competition between 1st March 2025 and 26th April 2026.
The Spring Bonus rewards BEDE’s frequent flyers with substantial prize bundles in dedicated BE90, BE100, and Novice sections on Sunday 24th May.
Supporting Riders at All Levels
BEDE Events Director Stuart Buntine commented:
“We know prize money in eventing often falls far behind that of our friends in show jumping, so anything we can do to work with our generous sponsors to increase prize funds is a bonus. In creating these new initiatives, we can bring bonus prize money to those at BE90, BE100 and Novice, and not just those competing at the highest levels.
I’d love it if the leading rider prize was won from someone competing outside of the 3* and 4*!”
