Racesafe eventing squad announced to represent GB in the FEI Junior European Championships
British Eventing are delighted to announce the horses and riders selected for the Racesafe sponsored Junior eventing squad who will represent Great Britain at the upcoming FEI Junior European Championships, taking place 22 -25 September 2016 in Montelibretti, Italy.
The team achieved bronze at Bialy Bor, Poland, in 2015 and will be hoping to better their result in 2016 with a team which includes; Harriet Wright (Pony European Championship team gold Malmö, Sweden 2015) and Phoebe Locke (Pony European Championship team gold, Malmö, Sweden 2015).
The squad is, in alphabetical order:
Felicity Collins, 18 from East Sussex, with the seven year old German gelding, RSH Contend or, owned by Ms Vicky Collins and Mrs Avirna Milton
Richard Coney, 17 from Lincolnshire, and his own eight year old Irish gelding Kananaskis
Phoebe Locke, 16 from Somerset, and the eight year old Irish gelding Union Fortunus, owned by Phoebe and Miss Jamie-lee Day.
Chelsea Pearce, 17 from Wiltshire, with her own 11 year old Dutch gelding Albert VI
Chelsea Round, 17 from Warwickshire, and her own nine year old British gelding Fleetwood Mac V
Bubby Upton, 17 from Suffolk, with Eros DHI, a seven year old Dutch gelding owned by Mrs Rachel Upton
Reserves:
First reserve will be Storm Straker, 17 from North Yorkshire, with her own 14 year old Dutch gelding Well Designed.
The additional reserves in alphabetical order will be:
Ailsa Wates, 18 from West Sussex, and Mrs Pip Wates and Equine Aqua Training’s 11 year old British gelding Woodlands Persuasion
Harriet Wright, 17 from Derbyshire, with her own 11 year old gelding Ngong Hills
Chairman of Selectors for the Junior squad, Darrell Scaife, commented; “We have seen some excellent performances over the last few months. Selection has been incredibly close but I believe that we have taken the opportunity to select a squad who can challenge for medals in Montelibretti later this month.”
