Anna bought him as a three-year-old from Padraig McCarthy and I really feel he is going to be a superstar.

He made everything feel easy and we couldn’t be more delighted.  He will now have  a good rest before next season, but there is no rush with him and we will just take our time.”

Taking second place was a delighted Ginnie Turnbull with the attractive coloured, Saint Sir Dapper, owned and bred by Jonathan Canty.

Simon Grieve and Haselmere Rockey rounded off the top three for the Osberton International Four-Year-Old Showcase with the grey gelding delighting the Leicestershire-based rider.

It has been a great day at Osberton International, blustery at times but it was great to see so many riders out competing and with a smile on their faces.

Everyone is in great form and we are looking forward to more dressage in the Investec CCI2*-L and CCI3*-Land cross-country for the British Eventing Young Horse classes tomorrow as well as dressage in the Bennington Carriages Driving Trials.”

Competition continues today, and into the weekend at Osberton Horse Trials. For more information on the schedule visit www.bede-events.co.uk/osberton/schedule
