New App Offers “More Rewarding” Riding

An app offering rewards in exchange for riding has been launched.

The app, aptly named Huufe, has teamed up with equestrian retailers to offer users discounts on products.

Users can create a personal profile, and a profile for their horses, where they can share videos and photographs with other users, much like social media. Groups can also be created, allowing riding schools and clubs to create areas to share news and up-coming events.

A unique and intriguing feature of the app is the reward opportunity. Huufe allows riders to collect “HuufeCoins” for riding, which can be exchanged for rewards. Thirty minutes of riding generates one HuufeCoin, with a maximum of 3 available per day. Current offers include 35% off retailers, such as Ride-Way and Derby House, and 50% of Gold-membership to the Harry Hall One Club.

App Co-Founder, Richard Phillips voiced the app to give the riding community the benefits they “deserve”. Phillips continued stating the app will make riding “more fun. safer, easier to manage, and definitely more rewarding”.

Additionally, Phillips outlined the simplicity of the app to user;

To capture your rides, you simply download the app, add your horse‘s name, put your phone back in your pocket and ride. The GPS in your phone then captures your location and speed, which is saved for you to keep and share it you want. You can see where you have been and keep this as a record for ever. You can also automatically add pictures and videos of your ride.”

Users can also record vaccinations, worming and farrier visits in their horses profiles, and an additional safety feature is also available for a £1.50 fee.

“The safety feature ‘SafeRide’ uses motion sensors in the phone to detect when a rider falls and is not moving. It then alerts nominated contacts that an incident has occurred. The exact location is given with directions to the fallen rider. The second safety feature ‘LiveRide’ allows nominated people track a rider’s location in real time,” added Co-founder, Charlie Trietline.

Huufe is currently free to download on all Apple and Android devices.
