Hickstead launches photography competition

Hickstead launch photography competition ahead of 2016 season’s schedule.

The Directors of the All England Jumping Course are on the search for photographs that really sum up those moments that make Hickstead’s shows so special.

For the first time Hickstead is holding a photo competition, to search for the best images from our 2016 season. The theme is #HicksteadMoments and the photos can be of anything that sums up the Hickstead experience – from showjumping action shots and beautiful showing photos, to photos of people enjoying themselves at the showground or those working behind the scenes at the All England Jumping Course.

There are three categories:
• Professional photographers (open to Hickstead’s accredited photographers only)
• Amateur photographers (those who earn a full/partial living from photography are not eligible)
• Under 18s

Twelve finalists across all three categories will each receive a pair of tickets to the Longines Royal International Horse Show 2017 on the day of their choice. Their images will be used in a Hickstead 2017 calendar, with profits from the sale of this calendar going to charity.

One winning photograph from each category will be used in the Equestrian.com Hickstead Derby Meeting and Longines Royal International Horse Show official programmes for 2017. The three winners will each receive a pair of Members’ Enclosure tickets for any day of their choice of the 2017 Hickstead season, plus a copy of the Hickstead book and an official Hickstead jacket.

The overall winner will also receive a VIP lunch for two people in the Members’ Restaurant on the day of their choice.

The competition will open on Wednesday 22 June at the Equestrian.com Hickstead Derby Meeting (22-26 June) and will remain open until after the Longines Royal International Horse Show (26-31 July).

Entries can be made by posting the images on our social media pages, on FacebookTwitter or Instagram. All entries should include the hashtag #HicksteadMoments and should state the category you are eligible for.

Alternatively, images can be sent to press@hickstead.co.uk along with your name and the category you are entering. Each photographer can enter a maximum of five images.

The competition will be judged by the Hickstead Directors, and the final date for entries is Monday 12 September 2016.
