The first episode of the Blue Chip All Star Academy aired yesterday evening on Horse and Country TV. The new series will run over five episodes, which sees eight riders compete against each other to win a years’ sponsorship from Blue Chip Feed and to become the next video blogger for Horse and Country TV.

After watching nearly 130 videos, the panel of selectors who included Carl Hester, Jayne Ross and Blue Chip sponsored rider Daisy Coakley, narrowed them down to eight finalists who attended a three day training camp at Talland School of Equitation in Gloucestershire. The finalists took part in a number of challenges which tested their equestrian knowledge, creativity and media skills as well as their horsemanship. They demonstrated their ability through a series of riding lessons, which took place during each day of the camp with Pammy Hutton, head judge of the Academy, Charlie Hutton and Ludvig Svennerstall.

Joining Pammy on the judging panel will be Horse and Country TV’s Jenny Rudall, who will be working alongside the winner to co-present an episode of ‘Rudall’s Round Up’ as part of the extensive prize package on offer. Also, Clare Blaskey, founder of Blue Chip Feed, will be deliberating over the choice of finalists, one of whom will receive one years’ sponsorship, clothing, feed and advice provided by Blue Chip.
