The official start of the racing jump season kicks off in style at Fontwell Park early next month when the popular annual two-day Oktoberfest event returns to the famous venue! Boasting probably one of the Best Oktoberfest Tents in Sussex, we’re back with Live Music, Horse Racing and plenty of German Cheer including our resident Oompah band!
The party doesn’t stop, with live music after an exciting day of racing…
On Friday, join us in the Bier Tent for an Apres ski-style after party with a DJ & Saxophone live on stage starting your weekend early!
What to expect!
Fontwell park boasts two enclosures for audiences to enjoy the weekends events!
The Paddock Enclosure: Enjoy access to 3 Grandstands, the Parade Ring, Winning Circle and a number of Bars and Food Outlets.
The Land & Power Premier Enclosure: Grants entry to all of the above, as well as access to the Ground Floor of the Land & Power Premier Grandstand. In which, you’ll find the Premier Bar and Café, marvelous viewing overlooking the Winning Post and access to a beautiful rear terrace overlooking Fontwell House & Gardens.
Day 1 – Friday 4th October
12.30pm Gates open
Start your weekend early at our Oktoberfest themed Bier tent with a stein of beer and entertainment provided by the Bavarian Strollers, an oompah band with a modern twist!
2.25pm First race
Our 6 thrilling jump races start, with some famous trainers and jockeys set to test their skill around our famous figure of 8 course!
5.15pm last race
After racing, the celebrations continue in the Bier tent with our Apres Ski style after-party with a live DJ and Sax player getting you in the mood for the weekend!
Free shuttle buses will be running 2 hours before racing and again from the 5th race right up to the end of the after-party, around 90 minutes after racing!
Day 2 – Saturday 5th October
12.00pm Gates open
Start the day with a visit to the Oktoberfest themed Bier tent with entertainment again provided by the Bavarian Strollers and plenty of different food and drink options to choose from!
2.05pm First race
On day 2 it’s 7 exciting jump races, with the jumps season playing out on our unique track. Why not visit the centre course to get up close to the action?!
5.25pm last race
After racing, continue the Oktobefest fun with live music from Madness tribute band, who’ll be turning our Bier tent into a house of fun!
Free shuttle buses will be running 2 hours before racing and again from the 5th race right up to the end of the after-party, around 90 minutes after racing!

Weekend Paddock Ticket – £30
This 2 day ticket is great value for money! Enjoy all the action from the 2 day festival of racing with 1 easy ticket. The Weekend Paddock ticket allows access to the viewing Grandstands, paddock area as well as viewing of the Winners Enclosure, four on-course bars, numerous catering outlets, toilets and outdoor seating. You may also cross the track between races to view the racing from the centre course.
Premier – Advance – £25
The Premier Enclosure allows access to all public areas of the racecourse, including the Ground Floor of the Land & Power Premier Grandstand and Fontwell Gardens. The Premier Grandstand offers additional indoor and outdoor seating opposite the Finishing Post as well as a Terrance area overlooking Fontwell House and Gardens. You’ll also find a Premium Bar, Toilet and Hot & Cold Food Outlets, Betting Facilities and Flat Screen TV’s to watch the thrilling racing action!
Paddock Plus Package – £25
This inclusive, great value package is perfect for any keen racegoer! It includes Paddock Admission, 1x Alcoholic Drink* and Racecard. Free Shuttle Bus
Our free shuttle bus service runs between the course and Barnham Station, from 2 hours from the first race and again from 5th race onwards, right up to the end of the after party.

The Land & Power Premier Restaurant Add a touch of luxury to Oktoberfest and join us in the exclusive Land & Power Premier Lounge Restaurant. The Restaurant is located on the first floor of the Land & Power Premier Grandstand with access to a superb Trackside Viewing Balcony and Panoramic Views of our beautiful Sussex Racecourse.

The relaxed nature at Fontwell Park carries through to our requirements for dress code. Most importantly, please remember to dress for the weather because Fontwell Park holds race meetings all year round and conditions can vary. However we do hold a smart casual policy for The Premier Enclosure and Hospitality suites. Click here for more information.
