Tom Goode and Pretty Boy Saint Julian Canter to Success at Bolesworth

#boles17 – Six Year Old Dressage Championship at Bolesworth

Tom Goode celebrated success yesterday afternoon at The Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show riding the 2006 gelding Saint Julian, in the Six Year Old Championships sponsored by Cool Equestrian.

The ‘pretty boy’ bay, glided effortlessly across the sun drenched, yet windy main arena to finish on a fantastic 82.02%. The NAF sponsored pairing canter proved a hit with the judges scoring a respectable 8.5! Goode held the lead from early on, across a field of nine riders including Amy Woodhead, the earlier winner of the Five Year Old Dressage Championships class.

Hot on the pairs heals were Mount St John’s elite dressage rider, Jayden Brown riding the 2011 Hanoverian mare, MSJ Top Secret. Scoring highly for their canter for a judge mark of 8.7 it was the overall lack of submission which cost Brown the class title, finishing less than 1.00% behind Goode.

In third place was Tim Heappey riding the super talented gelding Tantoni Dallaglio. Derived from one of the Oldenburg’s most valuable and established bloodlines, the gelding is said to have an ‘outstanding temperament and takes everything in his stride’.

Fresh from her class that finished only moments before, Amy Woodhead’s third test of the day unfortunately didn’t go so well. MSJ Fustin Fugger, seemed a little hot in the walk losing the pair valuable marks as high winds continued to engulf the venue.

International Showjumping classes today feature in the main arena with the Equitop Myoplast Puissance, followed by the highly anticipated Elite Sports Horse Auction.
