Steph Gumn: With every bad situation there comes some good…
December has been a busy month at SG Sports Horses. Alvin my new three-year-old was diagnosed with a neurological condition which has meant he has had to retire. It’s been devastating news as I was so positive about the horses ability and was looking to keep him to produce, long term.
I have also received a deposit on my three year old stallion Nemo. A very hard decision but I thought it was best to make up the lost money on Alvin and have a fresh start in 2017. I always believe with every bad situation there comes something good, so we shall see!
I have some lovely horses in at the moment, on behalf of owners, that I am enjoying working with. I have also been riding at a local stud which is very exciting!
Christmas is my favourite time of the year, I always try and use it to wind down after the year and catch up with family and friends.
Other than finding a super star horse next year, my Christmas wish is for everyone to have a little luck in 2017 and good health to both horses and humans. I’m sure 2017 will have its fair share of ups and downs but I hope it’s a good one!
