Native River won’t be running at Aintree

  • Native River missing Aintree
  • 14% of bets already lost in the Aintree Bowl
  • Cue Card favourite

It’s been confirmed this afternoon that Native River won’t be running in the Aintree Bowl this year, and will miss the Aintree meeting altogether.

In a year where withdrawals have been costly for punters, the latest news is another sucker blow for bettors. The Hennessy Gold Cup winner was a 6/4 shot for the Bowl this morning, a tempting price for racing fans who many believed the Colin Tizzard-trained horse would be well suited for the Merseyside track.

Unfortunately for Oddschecker users, just over 14% bets are already worthless thanks to Native River pulling out of the race. He was the third most popular ante-post bet in the race, behind Bristol De Mai and Cue Card.

Cue Card is now favourite for Thursday’s race and can be backed at 7/4 best odds, while punters’ favourite Bristol De Mai can still be backed at 6/1.
