Natasha Baker MBE Pays Tribute to Lazardo

Para-dressage rider, Natasha Baker MBE, has announced that horse Lazardo has been put to sleep this week following an irrecoverable episode of colic.

Lazarado, aka Ludo, showed promise in his younger years, however the gelding was plagued by injury throughout his career and was retired in 2009 following a suspensory injury.

Natasha released a statement on her official Facebook page this Tuesday (5/12/17) “The retired life came too soon, having sustained an injury early on in his career, we always joked that he took the ‘para’ thing too seriously and thought he had to be the disabled one!!” she joked.

The 23-year-old Holstein gelding was short listed for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 but was sadly withdrawn after becoming lame.
