At a whopping 18.1hh, Cavalier Rusticana, soared over the 7ft 1in (2.16m) Puissance wall at Liverpool International to scoop the win last night at Liverpool International.

Owned by Mary McCarthy, this was only the second time the 2006 bay stallion had attempted the wall the first being last month, for-which he won, at Cavan International in Ireland. Rider Peter Smyth was thrilled with the horses performance.

Shane Breen (IRL) on board Gotti Van Paemel challenged the unstoppable duo. Unfortunately as the last round played out it wasn’t to be as the 2006 grey gelding who knocked the wall at 7ft 1in taking second place, leaving just the one winner for the Puissance.
