Fly repellent for horses

Fly repellents for horses during the spring and summer months are an absolute necessity. But what are the best fly repellents, and which one do you choose and why?

There are many different types of fly sprays available, including gels, wipes, and lotions. We suggest having a variety to hand, each for different purposes and areas of your equine. Each and every horse and pony is different; some don’t mind the sprays, while others are terrified and can have quite a dramatic reaction as soon as they see the spray in your hands.

These can be used with fly rugs, or alone. Here, we look at the different types of fly repellent that may be suitable for your horse this year.

Top Tip: Make sure fields are cleared from droppings regularly, this will reduce the amount of flies surrounding your horse when out grazing.
