Duke of Beaufort Dies Peacefully at Home

The Duke of Beaufort has passed away peacefully at home yesterday (16/08/2017), at the age of 89. David Somerset was the 11th Duke of Beaufort.

The owner of the 59,000-acre estate that is  Badminton House, has reportedly left a fortune of £315 million. He left behind widow, Miranda, and his four children from a former marriage.

Badminton House is fondly recognised throughout the equestrian community as home to The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials.

“David, Duke of Beaufort died peacefully at home at Badminton today. He was 89.  He leaves his widow Miranda and four children Harry, Anne, Edward and John, and is succeeded by his eldest son Harry, The Marquess of Worcester.

“Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly”

David was formerly the president of The British Horse Society between 1988 – 1990. He was a countryman and was also the Chariman of Malborough Fine Art.
